Constructive Feed Back Friday

I love to take photos, Sometimes I get so snappy happy that I am not really checking out my surroundings as well as I should, ie, Shadow...
So let me know how you would solve this shadow problem..
Any any feedback would be appreciated

  1. This is an adorable photo! I have quite a few just like it... (shadows on faces!)

I look forward to seeing the responses for this.

  2. I love your edit! It truly transformed your photo! Shadows, for me at least, are so difficult to just avoid... They leave the photo with different exposures in different spots which annoy me. I try to avoid them as much as I can but they happen sometime!

  3. Actually, in looking at yours I believe that you did an amazing editing job. I tried to fix the image myself and couldn't get the result that you did. The only suggestion for the future would be to have the shadows be your #1 focus in that viewfinder because I to am having trouble with that.

  4. Wow. You fixed that SO well! I try to check out my screen once I have shot and if there are too many shadows I make them move. Even if they hate me for it : ) I know in the end they will be happy : ). Really sweet picture!

  5. Dappled shade like you have here is SO HARD to work with. You don't mention whether you shot this in auto or manual, but it looks like the first one exposed for the bright areas and the second shot exposed for the shadows which blew out the highlights. I absolutely refuse to shoot in light like this! ;)

What I would do to edit this (for example if you chose the first one), is make another layer with the corrected exposure for the shadowed areas... and then using a soft brush erase or mask back the bright areas which were properly exposed to begin with. Time consuming! But I think it would make a huge difference.
